Tottenham Hotspur has just appointed former Manchester united manager Jose Mourinho as their new manager on a contract that runs through to 2023.
This is coming after Mauricio Pochettino was sacked a day ago for poor performance.
Spurs are currently 14th on the premier league after 3 wins from their first 12 games, amongst other losses, they suffered a 7-2 loss to Bayern Munich recently in the champions league hence the reform.
Speaking to newsmen after the appointment, Mourinho had the following to say.
“I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters,
The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy also revealed that Mourinho’s track record of success made him an ideal choice.
According to him:
“In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football,
He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached.
We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”
